John-Michael Jennings, LMHC (They/Them)
Hi, I'm John-Michael (or JM for short) and I'm a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Washington State. I’m passionate about making therapy a collaborative process that encourages you to bring your whole self to the table. I often work with clients who are neurodivergent, have experienced religious trauma or other complex trauma, have questions about their gender or sexuality, or are going through major transitions in life. I’m passionate about helping folks to acknowledge what you’ve been through, accept who they are, and to learn how to move forward with self-compassion.
Outside of sessions, music is a huge part of my life, whether it's listening to a favorite artist, going to a show, or playing bass and synth. I enjoy playing TTRPGs like Dungeons and Dragons and love an open-world RPG video game. I also perform improv comedy with Bandit Theater, which has been a great way to stay in touch with my sense of humor and have a creative outlet outside of work. I have two cats named Bernie and Sufjan who love to make appearances in my teletherapy appointments.
